Rick Stever, Fire Chief
Greg Barlow, District Attorney

There is a quorum and the agenda was posted on 12-15-09 to comply with the open meeting law. Fire ChiefRick Stever is present.

Ronda made a motion to approve the November 16, 2009 minutes; seconded by Ed. All voted in favor.

Rick advised the Fire Safe Council came down. They toured Wilson Creek and discussed the water tank. They have the tank and they just need to get the hole dug and the tank placed. The tank will be filled from a truck right now; Rick will attempt to make arrangements with the Road Department to see if they will do the initial fill. It is possible Rick will pursue private contract to keep the tank filled. The tank will be buried, which means there will be no need for a heater. The tank will have to be pumped. It will be plumbed to suction pump off an apparatus. Rick has attempted to locate local equipment for placement of the tank. There isn’t anyone local, so
Rick will try Cedar City, UT. Tommy suggested Caliente’s track hoe might be able to handle the work load. Rick will contact Caliente City to see if this equipment will meet the need and to find out if the City would allow it to be used for this purpose.

Jack Lee, Pioche Fire District, would like the bill for the Eagle Valley fire to be set aside. Agreement was made that there would be no charge for the first two years of service; after this period of time, the local agreement will be used. Jack advised the Pioche Fire board took action to not charge LCFD for the fire. This doesn’t include fuel. Bill commented the county gave Pioche Fire District the land for their new fire station at no charge and the waiving of this bill is a good gesture. The board agreed to drop the Eagle Valley Fire bill and offered thanks to Pioche. Ronda made a motion to approve the payment of the $25.00 fuel bill to Pioche Volunteer Fire
Department; seconded by Ed. All voted in favor.

Tommy made a motion to accept the donated truck and to direct Rick to issue a receipt and “thank you” to David Barnes; seconded by Bill. All voted in favor. Rick advised the truck can be painted by NDF for less than $1,000. Decals are approximately $100 each

No action taken.

Paul called for public comment. There is none.

There being no further business for the Board to attend to, Paul adjourned the meeting at 11:20.
