Lisa Lloyd, Clerk
Rick Stever, Fire Chief
Greg Barlow, District Attorney

There is a quorum and the agenda was posted on 5-11-10 to comply with the open meeting law. Fire Chief Rick Stever is present.

Ronda made a motion to approve the minutes of 4-19-10; seconded by Ed. All voted in favor.

Rick initiated the Wildfire Awareness chipping program. NDF crew will go to McDermott/Mt. Wilson tomorrow. The Chiefs’ dinner went well. There was a fire on the railroad. When Rick was contacted he immediately called the BLM. The Ely BLM unit then called Caliente and sent a couple of trucks to the fire, which was started by a train. There is a mutual aid agreement in place with BLM. Corrections will be made to the local mutual aid agreements. BLM agreement is a 24 hour, no charge policy. There was a fire cooperator’s meeting at Pony Springs to reinforce agreements and mutual aid contacts. Rick is getting closer to installation of the tank at Mt. Wilson.

Ronda made a motion to approve the vouchers; seconded by Ed. All voted in favor.

Rick previously reported that we were turned down on the grant application for a water tender. This is a very important piece of equipment for the County and would be a huge benefit. Rick feels there is sufficient money in the budget for the purchase of such used apparatus. Prices range from $20,000-170,000 and we need a minimum of 2,000 gallon tank. Rick has verbal agreements in place for housing it in Pioche. Ronda made a motion to have Rick move forward on pricing and bring it back to the Board for consideration; seconded by Bill. John Crosthwait advised he attended the Ritchie Bros. auction this last weekend; the prices were incredibly low and they have fantastic equipment. This type of auction requires money in hand in order to pay for the equipment that day; it can’t wait to come back to a meeting for Board approval. All voted in favor.

Tommy made a motion to adopt the Lincoln County Personnel Policy; seconded by Ronda. All voted in favor.

Paul called for public comment. None is offered.

There being no further business for the Board to attend, Paul adjourns the meeting at 10:47.
