#1-CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Chairman Ed Higbee called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m.

There is a quorum and the agenda was posted on 7-30-13 to comply with the open meeting law.

#2-PUBLIC COMMENT

Ed called for public comment. None offered.

#3-MINUTES

Adam made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Paul M. All voted in favor.

#4-FIRE CHIEF UPDATE

Rick Stever reported that he’s spent a few days with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) fire. Rick supported a BLM operation at Bradshaw Ranch and then offered support to the BLM at the airport. There was a fire out north that the BLM took care of; it was on public land. The local fire departments are where people will apply for open burn permits. Rick will apply for a county permit. Rick continues to work on the Eagle Valley fire station. Rick started work on the Mt. Wilson building.

#5-VOUCHERS

Paul M. made a motion to approve the vouchers; seconded by Kevin. All voted in favor.

#6-PUBLIC INFORMATION AWARENESS WORKSHOP

Paul D. made a motion to approve Rick’s attendance, and any other Commissioner that desires to attend, at the Public Information Awareness workshop in Elko on August 7-8; seconded by Paul M. All
voted in favor.

#7- PUBLIC COMMENT

Ed called for public comment. Paul D. commented that he was looking at fuel costs. Rick uses a great deal of fuel and Paul D. questioned whether or not the Board needs to look for a greener vehicle for travel. Rick responded that the 400 gallons used was during a four month time period and it was when he was traveling around doing the assessments.

There being no further business for the Board to attend, Ed adjourned the meeting at 10:13 a.m.
