#4-FIRE CHIEF UPDATE

Rick Stever reported that he and Kevin attended the Pahranagat Valley Fire District Meeting last week regarding the new burn permit requirements passed down by the state. They informed them that getting their permit is entirely up to each community and agency and that the county would not be handling that; each town will be responsible for their area. Rick advised the board that he received a call from BLM this morning, requesting use of the county water canter to support a fire on Mt. Wheeler. At the time being, he has not yet sent the truck to Mount Wheeler, when he does, he will be the one to drive it. Rick is looking to get one or two drivers for this water truck. Ed questioned Rick whether or not there is another truck that would cover Pioche in the event of an emergency while this truck was gone to Mount Wheeler. Rick said there would be stipulations made that in the event the truck was needed in Pioche while away to Mount Wheeler, it would be sent back as soon as possible. Paul M. stated the decision to send the truck to Mount Wheeler or not would stand with Rick. Rick advised the board that would call the BLM to get their current status before he makes a decision.
