#1-CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

PRESENT:

Adam Katschke
Ed Higbee, Chair
Paul Donohue
Kevin Phillips, Vice Chair
Paul Matthews
Kerry Lee, Fire Chief

Lisa Lloyd, Clerk

There is a quorum and the agenda was posted on 1-14-14 to comply with the open meeting law.

#2-PUBLIC COMMENT

Ed called for public comment. None offered.

#3-MINUTES

Adam made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Kevin. All voted in favor.

#4-STATUS REPORT

Kerry advised that he got ahold of Fire Trucks Unlimited; they’re working on the truck this week. Kerry hopes he will know within the next two weeks how much it’ll cost to get everything put back together. It isn’t worth our time to sue the individual who was originally responsible for assembling the truck.

#5-VOUCHERS

Paul M. made a motion to approve the vouchers; seconded by Adam. Paul D. abstained as he is an employee of LCTS. Kevin abstained as he is part owner of Mountain Merc. Motion carried.

#6-AUDIT EXEMPTION

Kerry is working to find the correct paperwork to proceed with the resolution for exemption from the audit. This will save quite a few thousand dollars. Paul M. made a motion to approve making the petition to the NV Department of Taxation; seconded by Kevin. All voted in favor. Kerry will advertise it for two weeks.

#7- PUBLIC COMMENT

Ed called for public comment. Dylan Frehner stated that the Commissioners are appointed for a ten year term as the Panaca Fire District board. At that point, this board will be turned over to the citizens of the district. This is an elected board. Kerry will look into this issue to see when it will correspond with an election.

#8-ADJOURN

There being no further business for the Board to attend to, Ed adjourned the meeting at 10:24 a.m.
